NIGERIAN RAILWAY WORKERS CELEBRATE MAY DAY NATIONWIDE, COMMEND NRC MD FOR TRANSFORMATIONAL LEADERSHIP
The Nigerian Railway Corporation ( NRC) workers marked the 2025 Workers’ Day in grand style, with celebrations held across the country. The Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of NRC, comrade Dr. Kayode Opeifa, joined the festivities live in Abuja, alongside the President Generals of the Nigerian Union of Railway Workers(NUR) and the Senior Staff Association(SSA), Comrade Innocent Ajiji and Marcel Okeke, respectively.
In a show of unity and appreciation, NRC workers across all the Districts participated actively in commemorating the annual events. From the Lagos District to the Western, Northern, North Central, North Eastern, Eastern Districts, and operational arms like AKTS and WITS- headquartered respectively in Lagos,Ibadan ,Zaria, Kafanchan, Bauchi, Minna ,Enugu ,Abuja ,and Agbor- the celebrations reflected the pride and solidarity of the railway workforce.
Across these Districts, workers expressed deep gratitude to Comrade Opeifa for his exemplary Leadership and Unwavering Commitment to improving welfare and working conditions. The May Day celebration served not only as a tribute to the contributions of Railway Workers but also as a reaffirmation of their dedication to national development through efficient railway service.
