Focal Person on Labour Hon. Mohammed Alkali Visits Yobe NLC, Seeks Strengthened Partnership

The Focal Person on Labour to the Executive Governor of Yobe State, Hon. Mohammed Alkali, on Monday 13th October 2025 paid a courtesy visit to the Yobe State chapter of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), led by its Chairman, Comrade Mukhtar Musa Tarbutu.

During the visit, Hon. Mohammed Alkali commended the visionary leadership of His Excellency, Hon. Dr Mai Mala Buni CON. , for his unwavering commitment to the welfare of workers in Yobe State. He noted the Governor’s consistent record of prompt salary payments, as well as timely disbursement of gratuities and pensions, describing them as clear demonstrations of an administration that values its workforce.

According to Hon. Mohammed Alkali, “ His Excellency Hon. Dr. Maimala Buni CON. has continued to set the pace in ensuring workers’ welfare remains a top priority of his administration. His commitment to prompt payments, welfare enhancement, and human capacity development is a model for other states to emulate.”

He further solicited for continued cooperation and collaboration between the Office of the Focal Person on Labour and the NLC to sustain industrial harmony and enhance productivity across all sectors of the state.

In his response, the NLC Chairman, Comrade Mukhtar Musa Tarbutu, acknowledged the remarkable developmental strides of Governor Buni, particularly in human capital development. He assured the Focal Person of the NLC’s readiness to collaborate with his office and to continue supporting the policies and programs of the Yobe State Government for the collective progress and welfare of the people.
He further appreciated the visit by Hon. Mohammed Alkali.
