APC Group Raises Alarm Over Alleged PDP Infiltration in FCT Chairmanship Race, Demands Disqualification of Kuje Aspirant

A group within the All Progressives Congress (APC), under the banner of the APC Consolidation Group, has sounded a strong warning over what it described as a dangerous plot to undermine internal democracy and the renewed hope agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), particularly in Kuje and Bwari Area Councils.

Speaking at a press briefing in Abuja on Friday, the spokesperson of the group, Mallam Idris Jibril, lauded President Tinubu for his “bold, visionary, and transformative reforms” over the last two years, adding that Nigerians are already beginning to see the early signs of recovery and growth. The group also praised the Honourable Minister of the FCT for ongoing infrastructural strides that have elevated Abuja’s status as the nation’s capital.

However, the group expressed serious concerns about developments within the party’s internal primaries in the lead-up to the 2026 Area Council elections, pointing fingers at political elements allegedly working to sabotage the APC from within.

At the center of the controversy is Mr. Danjuma Samuel Shekwolo, a chairmanship aspirant in Kuje Area Council. According to the group, Mr. Shekwolo was a delegate at the PDP Zonal Convention on Saturday, 24th May 2025, only to pick up the APC nomination and expression of interest forms days later—a move they described as “political opportunism” and a betrayal of the party’s values.

More startling is the group’s claim that former PDP Senator Philip Aduda is actively involved in this alleged infiltration and is using the name of the Honourable Minister of the FCT to stifle dissent and legitimate objections within the APC.

“If this manipulation is allowed to stand, it risks triggering unrest in Kuje and Bwari,” said Jibril, who accused the PDP of attempting to destabilize the APC ahead of the crucial 2027 general elections.

The APC Consolidation Group called on the National Chairman of the party, Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, to act swiftly by disqualifying Mr. Shekwolo and investigating the situation to preserve party integrity. They also urged the Inspector General of Police and the Director-General of the DSS to closely monitor political developments in the affected councils to avoid a breakdown of law and order.

The group concluded by commending aspirants who have remained loyal and law-abiding, reiterating its commitment to a free, fair, and credible primary process that would consolidate the APC’s dominance in the FCT and position the party for victory in 2027.

“The stakes are high, and we cannot afford to fail,” Jibril declared.
