We, the committed and progressive youth of Nigeria, deeply appreciate your unwavering dedication to the Renewed Hope Agenda and your efforts toward youth empowerment and national development. Your leadership has inspired hope and action across the country, and we are particularly grateful for the energetic and result-driven approach of the Honorable Minister of Youth Development, Engr. Ayodele Wisdom Olawande.
Under his leadership, we have seen renewed focus on youth inclusivity, skills development, entrepreneurship, and leadership opportunities. However, to further strengthen the Ministry of Youth Development and ensure greater regional balance, deeper grassroots engagement, and expanded impact, we humbly appeal for the appointment of a Minister of State for Youth Development from Northern Nigeria.
Why This Appointment is Necessary?
1. Enhanced Regional Representation: Nigeria’s youth are diverse, and ensuring equitable leadership across regions will foster national unity and inclusiveness in youth policies.
2. Support for the Hon. Minister: Given the enormous responsibility of the Ministry, appointing a Minister of State from the North will complement the efforts of Hon. Olawande and help in reaching more youth, especially in rural areas.
3. Strengthening Youth Programs Nationwide: A stronger ministerial team will accelerate the implementation of youth-focused initiatives, particularly in the North, where challenges like unemployment, insecurity, and lack of opportunities require urgent attention.
4. Alignment with the Renewed Hope Agenda: A Minister of State for Youth Development will ensure the seamless execution of policies targeted at youth across all geopolitical zones, thereby delivering on your administration’s promises ahead of 2027.
